Velu Perumal is the President of the Association of Creativity Innovation and Design Malaysia (ACRIDEM). He has served for 15 years as an Industrial Designer and an Industrial Design Engineer in multinational companies such as Panasonic Home Appliances Research and Development Centre. 

Velu Perumal is a successful Industrial Design practitioner and is a member of the Malaysia Design Council.

Velu Perumal is also a Member of the Skill Development Consultative Committee and was appointed as an Industrial Specialist by the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia. As a Malaysia Young Designers Award winner and a designer for Good Design Mark’s winning products, Velu Perumal has constantly shared his expertise in a plethora of ways. He is at present continuing to share his designing skills and knowledge by empowering the younger generation’s creative minds by giving design related talks, lectures and creativity workshops. Numerous universities have invited him as a visiting or guest lecturer for product design courses.

He has furthermore been appointed as a Mentor for fully granted invention projects and has been a part of the judging process in national and international industrial design and invention competitions.
