Short Bio - Ruth Ann Hattori

Ruth Ann Hattori is a bottom-line oriented business person with over 25 years hands-on experience, first as an entrepreneur, then in successively more responsible positions in senior corporate management. She enjoyed a long and very successful career in fashion apparel where her talents for future thinking and the ability to translate ideas into products that sell were critical. Ruth Ann served Rocky Mountain Clothing as a corporate VP and division president and led the division for 8 years with an unfailing record of profitability while she

successfully navigated through a merger with another division and significant reengineering. Ruth Ann was awarded the Pioneer and Innovation award by the Western and English lifestyle industry.
As Co-Founder of InnovationNetwork®, one of the first organizations created especially for education about innovation, designed and facilitated the Innovation University™ program for five years. She co-designed many of the Innovation Convergence conferences, conducted research and benchmarking across industries and delivered consulting and corporate training in a wide array of organizations. Known as a skilled facilitator and excellent designer of adult learning events, she has written numerous articles on innovation and related topics and co-authored the book Innovation Training with Joyce Wycoff, published by ASTD Press.
Ruth Ann has spoken at public and corporate conferences in the U.S. including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, ASTD’s international conference/expo and IN’s own Convergence. Outside the U.S. she has presented programs at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and for private clients in Asia, Europe and the Caribbean . Corporate clients she has consulted with include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Datex-Ohmeda (now part of GE Medical), Otto Bock Healthcare, Eastman Kodak, Elderhostel, Intrawest, Destination Hotels & Resorts, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Pelican Hill Resort.
Ruth Ann holds a B.S. from Oregon State University in Home Economics and Journalism.
